US President Donald Trump said Ukraine must stop attacking Russian oil refineries. He also said Ukraine needs a new president. On Friday, Trump said he had made a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin for Russia to sell diesel to the United States. Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide criticized the move. "It is an opposite signal from what we need now," he said. He noted that Western countries have stood together to tighten sanctions on Russia, especially on oil and oil products, which are Russia's most important export. Ukraine has carried out several attacks on Russian oil refineries this autumn. Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine will increase these attacks. Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine in 2022. Since then, Russia has regularly attacked Ukrainian energy facilities.
