A Turkish women’s rights activist has been sentenced to 19 years and 6 months in prison. Ayşe Gökkan said the ruling has not weakened her belief in the fight for women’s and human rights. In a statement, she declared: “Our determination in the search for truth, justice, and freedom has grown even stronger.”
