ANKARA – Turkish prosecutors have requested the arrest of 75 people detained ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara. The group includes members of the TEMA Foundation, an environmental group; Associate Professor Emel Memiş; and journalist Yıldız Tar, editor-in-chief of KaosGL.
The suspects were referred to a criminal judgeship of peace after giving statements to prosecutors. Authorities have not yet specified the charges, but the detentions have drawn attention to security measures surrounding the high-profile international meeting.
