French President Emmanuel Macron said on 15 June that European nations now carry nearly the entire financial burden of Ukraine’s war effort, while the United States continues to provide weapons and intelligence. Speaking ahead of the G7 summit in Évian, Macron urged Washington to send a clear message of solidarity to Kyiv. “We need America to tell Ukraine, ‘We are with you,’” he stated. The remark highlights growing European frustration over what some leaders see as an unequal sharing of support costs. Macron’s call comes as the G7 prepares to discuss further aid for Ukraine.
