British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the UK military has stopped an oil tanker from Russia’s “shadow fleet” as it tried to pass through the English Channel.
“This successful operation is another blow against Russia and a reminder to those supporting Putin’s war in Ukraine that we will not let them hide,” Starmer wrote on X.
The UK Ministry of Defence said the ship has temporarily anchored off England’s south coast. Officials will monitor the vessel for environmental and security reasons.
