Egypt and Turkey Join Forces for COP31 Climate Push

Egypt and Turkey have agreed to expand environmental cooperation, with both sides preparing for the 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31).

The deal was discussed during a meeting between Egyptian Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad and Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum. The talks took place on the sidelines of the D-8 Ministerial Meeting on Environment, held in Turkey on July 16–17 [199270].

Both nations are now coordinating their efforts ahead of the upcoming global climate summit. The assistant minister also attended the discussions [199270].
