EU Leader Warns: Global Conflicts Threaten International Law

The European Union's top official has issued a stark warning about major conflicts around the world. EU Council President Antonio Costa stated that the wars in Gaza, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine, and Sudan are not merely local problems. He argued that these conflicts represent serious violations of international law. When one nation ignores another's sovereignty and borders, it sets a dangerous example for all others. “By allowing any state to ignore another country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and recognized borders, we are allowing all the other countries to do the same,” Costa said. His comments highlight the risk that such actions could become more common, further destabilizing global order.
