A sinkhole on a Manchester golf course has uncovered a historic wine cellar sealed for over 100 years.
A groundsman found the cellar after spotting the hole. He first thought it was just a collapsed drain. Inside, he discovered dozens of empty wine and port bottles.
The room was part of a 12th-century hall. It had been completely abandoned and forgotten for more than a century until the ground gave way.
