London City Lionesses have signed French winger Delphine Cascarino. The deal is for three and a half years.
Cascarino, 28, is a six-time UEFA Women's Champions League winner. She won all those titles with French giants Lyon. Her most recent club was San Diego Wave in the United States' NWSL.
She left the American team by mutual agreement on Sunday. Cascarino wanted to return to a club closer to home.
This transfer continues London City's ambitious recruitment. The team is new to England's top-tier Women's Super League (WSL). They have already signed other high-profile international players.
In other news, new signing Daniëlle van de Donk enjoyed a successful debut for London City.
