Colombian Navy Divers Seize Cocaine Hidden on Ship's Hull

Colombian naval divers have recovered 450 pounds (204 kilograms) of cocaine attached to the hull of a ship. The drugs were found hidden in a compartment designed to avoid detection, a method known as a "hydrodynamic device." This seizure occurred just days after the navy announced a separate major drug bust. In that earlier operation, authorities confiscated more than seven tons of narcotics from two speedboats and a semi-submersible vessel, often called a "narco sub." The back-to-back operations highlight ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking gangs in the region. These criminal groups frequently use maritime routes and sophisticated methods to transport illegal goods.
