Husband Claims Freak Accident, Police Call It a Staged Scene

A Wisconsin man says his wife died in a tragic highway accident. Police allege it was a carefully planned crime. Todd Kendhammer told investigators a metal pipe flew off a truck and crashed through his car windshield, killing his wife, Barbara. The incident occurred on a rural road in June 2018. However, authorities soon declared the scene a "staged event." They found the pipe on the road lacked any paint transfer from a truck. The damage to the car did not match Kendhammer's story. No charges have been filed. The case remains under investigation. "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty reports on the mystery this Saturday.
