Three men who escaped a Georgia jail threatened to kill and sexually assault their Lyft driver during their flight to Florida, a new court document reveals.
The inmates fled the DeKalb County Jail on October 16. They then called a Lyft car using a smuggled cell phone, according to an affidavit filed in court.
The driver told investigators the men made graphic threats during the ride. They said they would murder and sexually assault the driver if their demands were not met.
The affidavit provides new details about the violent escape. The three men were captured two days later at a Florida beach resort.
They now face additional felony charges of hijacking a motor vehicle and making terroristic threats.
