Soweto Derby Showdown: IEC Says It's Ready for Election Day

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) says it is fully prepared for South Africa's local government elections. Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo compared the commission's readiness to the high intensity of the Soweto derby, one of the country's biggest football matches. Mamabolo outlined the systems and safeguards in place to protect the voting process. He also highlighted programs aimed at getting young people involved in the elections.
