Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot said his government will push for European Union sanctions against those responsible for an attack on European diplomats in the West Bank.
Israeli settlers attacked the diplomats during a visit to the occupied West Bank, according to the Belgian government. Prévot condemned the violence and said Belgium will press for EU-wide sanctions on those behind the attack.
The incident adds to growing international concern over settler violence in the West Bank. The European Union has previously considered measures against individuals linked to such attacks.
