China tells Israel: Open Gaza, stop settlements

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Israel's president on Thursday. He called for two major changes.
First, Wang said Israel must fully open access routes into Gaza. He warned that two million civilians should not be "left to struggle on the brink of survival." He also said the humanitarian crisis must not be allowed to spread.
Second, Wang urged Israel to reverse its settlement expansion in the West Bank.
Wang made these comments during talks with Israel's president, according to a Chinese foreign ministry statement released Friday.
