Islamabad — Pakistan has confirmed that its troops are stationed in Saudi Arabia. The announcement comes as Houthi rebels in Yemen continue cross-border attacks, including deadly strikes on airports.
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry told CNN in an exclusive interview on Wednesday, "The forces of Pakistan are already there. That I can share with you."
The Iran-backed Houthis have escalated attacks on Saudi territory in recent weeks. Pakistan, a key ally of Saudi Arabia, has not previously disclosed the presence of its forces in the kingdom.
