BRIN and Social Ministry Team Up to Fix People's Schools
Indonesia's Social Affairs Ministry and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) signed a cooperation agreement on Thursday to improve the country's People's Schools (Sekolah Rakyat).
The partnership aims to use domestic research to raise the quality of these schools, which serve underprivileged students.
Under the deal, BRIN will provide research and data to help the ministry design better programs and policies.
Both agencies said the collaboration will rely on local expertise rather than foreign consultants.
The government hopes the move will make People's Schools more effective in lifting poor families out of poverty through education.
