South Korean banks have been hit by cyberattacks that used artificial intelligence (AI) tools, officials said.
AI tools can automatically find weaknesses in computer systems and launch attacks. This makes hacking faster and harder to stop.
Investigators did not say which banks were affected or how much money was lost. They also did not name the group behind the attacks.
Officials warned that banks around the world should prepare for similar threats.
