Iran's foreign minister said on Sunday that only negotiation can end the conflict, and that Tehran is still waiting for a formal rejection of a deal — even after the US president publicly dismissed it.
The minister said Iran needs an official answer in writing, not just comments to the press.
His statement came after the US president rejected the deal, which concerns the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway that carries about one-fifth of the world's oil.
The minister did not say what the deal contained or when Iran expects a reply.
