Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Saturday that some Western politicians are pushing for a conflict between NATO and Russia. He said this is happening because their strategy to defeat Moscow in the Ukraine war has failed.
Fico has long kept warm relations with Russia. He refuses to send military aid to Ukraine. This week, he said Europe is closer than ever to a large-scale war coming from the Ukraine war.
At the same time, some European leaders, such as those in France and Poland, have warned of the danger of the war spreading.
