Supreme Court rejects Trump's mail-in voting bid: "It has disappointed the country"

US President Donald Trump attacked the Supreme Court on Tuesday after it rejected his efforts to restrict mail-in voting ahead of the November 3 legislative elections. "Republicans have just received another unfavorable decision from the US Supreme Court," Trump wrote on Truth Social. He called it "a great defeat for Republicans and for the United States" and said it "makes it much easier for the radical left to cheat with mail-in ballots." The Supreme Court has a 6-3 conservative majority. It has blocked several of Trump's most controversial actions, including his use of tariffs and his attempt to end birthright citizenship. Trump said the court's tariff decision "will cost the US billions and billions of dollars" and called its birthright citizenship ruling "a total and absolute disaster." He also said Justices Alito and Thomas "expressed their strong disagreement with this horrible and highly political ruling." Trump did not provide evidence of mail-in voting fraud. The claim that the US is the only country with mail-in voting is also false. "The Supreme Court has disappointed our country!" Trump said. He added that "certain justices are terrified of these crazy and depraved Democrats." Trump appointed three of the court's current justices during his first term. He said the court "will be remembered as a court that issued some of the most destructive decisions in our country's history." "It is not easy for me to write this criticism," he said, "but I consider it my duty as president to do so for the America we love."
