A Ukrainian drone attack killed two people and injured two others in Russia's Belgorod region, local officials said on [insert date if known, otherwise: Tuesday].
The strike targeted the border area, which has faced repeated cross-border shelling and drone raids since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed the casualties in a statement on Telegram, saying the victims were civilians.
He did not specify what type of infrastructure was hit.
Russia's Defense Ministry did not immediately comment.
Ukraine rarely claims responsibility for attacks inside Russian territory, but Kyiv has said such strikes are legitimate retaliation for Moscow's ongoing missile and drone barrages against Ukrainian cities.
