Germany pushes EU to ban Russian tourist visas after Leipzig drone plot

The push comes as German authorities investigate a Belarusian national, who also holds a Russian passport, over an alleged attempt to attack Leipzig airport using drones and explosives. The suspect is said to have entered the EU on a tourist visa issued by Italy. German officials argue that such visas now pose a security risk to the entire bloc, not just to individual member states. They want EU-wide action to prevent Russian tourists from using the visa system to plan or carry out hostile acts.
