Xiaomi to Sell Electric Cars in Europe Next Year

Chinese tech company Xiaomi announced on Thursday that it will begin selling its electric vehicles (EVs) in Europe next year. The statement came during a consumer electronics trade show in Berlin.
The company’s car unit, Xiaomi Auto, said it will enter several European markets, including Germany. There, it has already signed agreements with eight car dealer groups to set up its sales network.
Xiaomi joins a growing list of Chinese carmakers expanding into Europe. This move comes despite new EU tariffs on China-made EVs and rising caution across the bloc about Chinese vehicles.
The announcement marks a major step for Xiaomi, which is better known for smartphones and home appliances. Its entry into the European car market signals a push to compete with established brands in the region.
