Kristalina Georgieva, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has publicly praised Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh for his recent speech at the annual Jackson Hole economic symposium. Speaking with Bloomberg’s Lisa Abramowicz on “Bloomberg The Close,” Georgieva said Warsh “did a great job” in addressing the central bank’s current challenges.
The IMF chief also weighed in on ongoing price pressures, noting that inflation remains “stubborn.” She addressed a key question facing policymakers: whether these persistent price increases signal a failure of central banks, or if they are driven by outside forces beyond their direct control. Georgieva’s comments come as global markets closely watch the Fed’s next moves on interest rates.
