Fatih Erbakan, the leader of Turkey’s Yeniden Refah (New Welfare) Party, announced that his party will neither support nor oppose the framework law currently being debated in the Turkish Parliament’s General Assembly. Speaking on the matter, Erbakan confirmed the party’s position as a deliberate abstention, declining to cast a “yes” or “no” vote on the legislation.
