KYIV — A massive Russian attack killed more than a dozen people in Kyiv overnight into Thursday, the city’s mayor said. The assault came just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Moscow was planning a major strike.
Ukraine’s air force reported that Russia launched nearly 500 drones and dozens of missiles toward the country. Officials described the operation as a “massive combined” attack, using both air and ground-launched weapons.
The strike targeted the capital and other areas, causing widespread damage. Rescue crews continue to search through rubble for survivors. The attack marks one of the largest aerial assaults on Ukraine in recent weeks.
