The United Nations relief chief has warned that the Sudanese city of El Obeid could soon face the same level of devastation as El Fasher, a city already devastated by war.
"Intensifying drone attacks are killing civilians across the region, and the risk of deeper human suffering is rising," said Tom Fletcher, the UN's top humanitarian official.
El Obeid, a strategic city in central Sudan, has seen a sharp increase in drone strikes in recent weeks. The attacks have killed dozens of civilians and forced thousands to flee their homes.
The UN warns that without an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian access, El Obeid could become the next major crisis point in Sudan's ongoing conflict.
