The United States and Iran have agreed to halt military strikes for now and will meet in Doha to discuss the Strait of Hormuz. During negotiations in Switzerland last week, the U.S. delegation and Iran established a "hotline"—a direct communication line—between the U.S. military and Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps. The hotline aims to coordinate ship traffic in the strait, a critical waterway for global oil shipments.
