China is loudly warning that Japan is returning to its old militaristic ways. But across the Asia-Pacific region, few countries are paying attention—or believe it.
China’s repeated claims about a dangerous Japan are having the opposite effect. The more Beijing criticizes Tokyo, the less credible it looks. In contrast, Japan appears more reasonable.
