Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo met Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in Singapore on Monday to discuss investment for the city’s MRT expansion.
The meeting focused on securing funding for the next phases of Jakarta’s mass rapid transit system. The project aims to extend the network to more areas of the capital.
Singapore has experience in building and operating urban rail systems. Jakarta is seeking both financial support and technical expertise from the city-state.
The governor did not provide details on the total investment needed or a timeline for the expansion. Further talks are expected.
