Drone strikes and explosions have killed scores of civilians and wounded dozens more across Sudan, with attacks hitting displacement shelters and residential areas in Blue Nile and North Kordofan states [259659].

A drone attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed 30 people in Blue Nile state, southeast of the capital, according to reports from the area. Most of the victims were women and children. The strike hit Aba Shandi in Wad al-Mahi county [258579].

In a separate attack, a drone strike by Sudanese paramilitary forces killed 41 people near the Ethiopian border, a rights group said. Eight children were among the dead. The strike hit a gathering of displaced people [259262].

The violence comes as deadly mine blasts struck West Kordofan, and armed clashes flared again in South Darfur [259659].

Meanwhile, a senior military and tribal delegation from the RSF arrived in the Nuba Mountains last Tuesday to mediate deadly internal clashes between the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) and local fighters from the Atoro community. The fighting is reportedly linked to gold in the Kauda area and the Blue Nile region, as control over gold mines has become a major source of conflict across Sudan [259654].
