Turkey's Top Diplomat Hits UAE as Ankara Pushes "Fairer World Order" at UN

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments, including preparations for the second meeting of the Türkiye-UAE High-Level Strategic Council [251547].

The trip follows a busy week of diplomacy at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, where Fidan met with counterparts from Venezuela, El Salvador, and Guinea-Bissau. During those talks, Türkiye and El Salvador signed an agreement to avoid double taxation — a deal that prevents the same income from being taxed by two countries [250511].

Fidan also used the UNGA platform to call for a "fairer international order," saying Ankara will keep pushing for reforms to a global system it argues favors a few powerful nations while ignoring the needs of others [251537].
