The conflict, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion, shows no signs of ending [169828]. Ukrainian forces have expanded their fire control over occupied territory, striking military and energy facilities deep inside Russian borders. This marks a significant increase in Ukraine’s ability to hit targets far from the front lines, reflecting its growing use of domestically produced drones and long-range weapons [169828].

In recent operations, Ukrainian cyber intelligence penetrated Russian military networks, giving Kyiv real-time data on enemy troop movements. Intelligence revealed that Russia’s 37th Brigade was waiting for fuel supplies traveling via the Chonhar bridge. Ukraine struck the bridge, and the fuel trucks have still not arrived [169827]. A fire also broke out at the Russian defense plant "Progress" in Cheboksary after a reported Ukrainian strike using Flamingo missiles. The governor of Russia's Chuvash Republic confirmed the incident but did not specify the extent of the damage [169832].

Kyiv has made it difficult for Moscow to provide military and civilian supplies to the territories it occupies. Ukraine is increasing attacks on fuel depots and supply routes in Russian-controlled areas, worsening a fuel crisis for the Kremlin. The strikes target infrastructure essential for both military operations and daily life in occupied regions [169625].

Despite Moscow’s advanced air defense systems, both Moscow and St. Petersburg have been shaken by multiple attacks. Ukraine’s heavy drones manage to evade Russian defenses around major cities by flying at low altitudes [169561]. Ukrainian arms manufacturer Fire Point has announced the successful testing of new surface-to-air projectiles, offering a low-cost alternative to expensive missile defense systems like the American-made Patriot [169637].

The war continues to cause heavy casualties and displacement on both sides. No peace negotiations are currently underway [169828]. Russia launched drone strikes on residential areas in the Ukrainian cities of Zaporizhzhia and Sumy on 8 June, killing three civilians and wounding dozens more, Ukrainian officials reported [169358].
