The Governor of Namibia's ||Kharas region, Dawid Gertze, has strongly rejected proposals for the country's southern regions to break away. He described the idea of secession as unrealistic and a political tactic.
Governor Gertze dismissed the suggestions, which were made by politician Bernadus Swartbooi. He labeled the talk of Hardap and ||Kharas regions leaving Namibia as "political gimmicks" and a "fantasy."
The governor's statement aims to reinforce national unity. He asserts that the regions will remain a permanent part of the Republic of Namibia.
