A holiday in southern Thailand became a dangerous ordeal for a 74-year-old tourist from Singapore. Ronnie Toh was caught in some of the worst flooding the region has seen in years.
Days of heavy rain caused major roads to flood. The storms also cut power and disrupted water supplies in many neighborhoods.
The city of Hat Yai, where Toh was visiting, was declared a disaster zone. As floodwaters rose rapidly, he became separated from his family and lost contact.
A heroic rescue operation was launched to find him. Authorities successfully located and saved Toh from the dangerous conditions.
