To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Eve Irvine will host Dr. Ashley Morgan for a discussion. The United Nations established this day 25 years ago.
The date of November 25th honors the Mirabal sisters. These three activists from the Dominican Republic were murdered for opposing the brutal regime of Rafael Trujillo.
Since its creation, the day has spurred worldwide efforts. These campaigns aim to strengthen women's rights, amplify their voices, and end violence against women everywhere. Dr. Morgan is a Senior Lecturer and a scholar of masculinities, a field that studies concepts of manhood.
