Hong Kong Kindergarten Shifts Student Trip from Japan to Mainland China

A private kindergarten in Hong Kong has moved a student study tour from Tokyo, Japan, to Chengdu, China. The school made the change following a government advisory issued during a diplomatic dispute between the two countries. Victoria Educational Organisation, which operates eight kindergarten and nursery campuses, confirmed the decision. A notice from the school and its parent-teacher association began circulating online on Monday. The notice explained the move was made "in light of the recent advisory" from the Hong Kong government. The advisory urged caution regarding travel to Japan. The diplomatic row prompted the city's warning.
