Ethiopia's Hayli Gubbi volcano has ended its first eruption in thousands of years. The volcano had recently reawakened, marking a significant geological event.
According to the Toulouse Volcanic Ash Advisory Center, the eruption produced a large ash cloud. This cloud is now drifting from the Horn of Africa across the Gulf of Aden.
The ash is forecast to move toward Yemen, Oman, India, and China. Authorities in these regions are monitoring air quality and potential disruptions to air travel. Volcanic ash poses a serious risk to aircraft engines.
