Lithuania has called for the European Union to impose stronger sanctions on Belarus. The request follows two major incidents that have increased tensions between the neighboring countries.
The Lithuanian foreign minister stated that Belarusian officials have seized at least 20 commercial trucks from Lithuanian companies. In a separate incident, Belarus is also accused of using balloons to smuggle migrants across the border.
In a public statement, the minister urged the EU to act. He asked the bloc to protect its members, defend companies, and confront Belarus with unity. The appeal emphasizes the need for a decisive response to these escalating actions.
