Mafia Used Hospital for Fake Crashes and Ghost Ambulances

Italian police have arrested four people in Naples. They are accused of a shocking mafia scheme inside a public hospital. The suspects are linked to the Contini clan, part of the Camorra mafia. Prosecutors say the clan took over parts of the San Giovanni Bosco hospital to run illegal money-making operations. One scheme involved staging fake car crashes. The group then used the hospital to create false medical reports for insurance fraud. In a more macabre operation, the clan allegedly transported corpses. They moved dead bodies on stretchers with oxygen masks to make them look alive. This was done to profit from private ambulance transfer fees. The investigation began after a state witness, a former criminal, gave information to police. Officials said the mafia used intimidation to control both public officials and private citizens at the hospital.
