An Israeli airstrike has killed a senior Hezbollah commander in Beirut. The strike hit the Dahiyeh area, a southern suburb of the city, on Tuesday. The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah confirmed the death of Commander Ali Taleb al-Tabatabai. He was also known as Abu Abbas. The group stated he was "martyred on the road to Jerusalem," a phrase it commonly uses for members killed by Israel. Local reports indicate the strike resulted in additional casualties. At least five people were killed and 28 others were injured in the incident. Hezbollah has been exchanging near-daily fire with the Israeli military across the Lebanese-Israeli border. This recent strike marks a significant escalation, targeting a high-profile figure deep within Hezbollah's stronghold.
