Former French President François Hollande has issued a strong warning about U.S. policy under a potential second Donald Trump term. In an interview with the newspaper Le Monde, Hollande stated that Trump's strategy would reduce Europe to the role of a "besieged bystander."
Hollande argued that Trump believes the European continent is "finished" and "no longer counts." He linked this perceived U.S. withdrawal directly to European security.
The former president specifically highlighted the war in Ukraine. He warned that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky falls, European security will be compromised.
"Sooner or later, we too will fall," Hollande stated, emphasizing the high stakes for Europe.
