The United States has set a new national record at the Beijing Winter Games, capturing its 11th gold medal.
The victory was secured in the mixed team aerials event in freestyle skiing. The American trio of Kaila Kuhn, Connor Curran, and Chris Lillis outperformed their rivals to take the top spot on the podium.
This gold medal breaks the previous U.S. record of 10 golds, which was set at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. The achievement highlights a particularly strong performance for American freestyle skiers at these Games.
The mixed team aerials event is new to the Olympic program. Teams consist of two men and one woman, each performing jumps that are judged for difficulty and execution.
