The final piece of the Sagrada Familia's central tower was put in place on Friday. Workers installed a large glass cross at the very top. This completes the main tower dedicated to Jesus Christ. It brings the Barcelona church to its final height of 172.5 meters. The structure is now the tallest building in Barcelona. It is also the tallest church in the world. High winds had delayed the work for several days. Crews were able to lift the 17-meter-tall cross into position on Friday morning. Famed architect Antoni Gaudí dedicated much of his life to the project. Construction began 144 years ago.
