A woman has been charged with animal abandonment after leaving her dog tied to a baggage counter at Las Vegas's Harry Reid International Airport.
According to airport police, the incident occurred at a JetBlue Airways ticket counter. The woman secured her dog's leash to a baggage sizing unit and then left the area.
Airport staff discovered the abandoned animal and contacted authorities. Police located and arrested the woman shortly afterward.
She now faces a misdemeanor charge of animal abandonment. The dog was unharmed and taken to a local animal shelter for care.
