Health officials are warning of a fast-spreading measles outbreak in north London, primarily affecting unvaccinated children under 10 years old. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) confirmed 34 cases in the Enfield area between January 1 and February 9. Several infected children required hospital treatment. The cases are connected to local schools and nurseries. With the Easter holiday travel period approaching, the UKHSA is urgently advising parents in Enfield to vaccinate their children. Measles is a highly contagious viral disease. The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe and effective at preventing infection.
