Damascus will host a United Nations transport and logistics meeting next week. This marks the first time Syria has held the event in over 15 years.
The 26th session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia’s (ESCWA) Committee on Transport and Logistics will take place on November 25-26. Transport Minister Yarub Badr told the SANA news agency that the session will review regional developments.
The meeting signals a step towards Syria's re-engagement in regional economic affairs. ESCWA promotes economic development for its 20 member states across the Arab region.
