Chinese Researchers Develop Desktop-Sized Chip Manufacturing Tool

Chinese engineers have successfully miniaturized a critical chipmaking machine to the size of a desktop unit. This new, compact tool uses extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light and has been utilized to produce 14-nanometer chips. While 14nm technology is not the most advanced available today, it represents a highly practical standard. Chips of this size offer a strong balance of performance, cost, and energy efficiency.
