A 13-year-old student has been arrested for the attempted murder of his art teacher in southern France. The attack occurred Tuesday inside a secondary school in Toulon.
The teenage suspect stabbed the 60-year-old teacher at least three times, leaving the victim in critical condition. Authorities quickly arrested the student at the scene.
Prosecutor Raphael Balland stated there are no known "religious or political" motives for the violence at this early stage. The investigation is ongoing.
“All we know is that there had been tensions,” Balland said, without providing further details. The case has shocked the local community and raised concerns about safety in schools.
